Nicaragua Mission Team

Posted by eric on May 24, 2011

Okay team, let’s collaborate!

1) What is our group’s “mission”?  What do you think it should be?

2) What are your “hopes” for this trip?

3) What “strength’s” do you see within our group?

Ministry Opportunity #20 and #21

Posted by eric on August 24, 2010

Our 20th Ministry Opportunity was a huge success.  We had a neighborhood block party at the Northgate Estate Mobile Home Park.  We rented a moonwalk and cooked 100 hot dogs.  Many children and adults came out.  It was a great time.

For our 21st opportunity we served US Soldiers by raising money for shipping care packages.  Thanks to everyone who served and gave.

Youth Update

Posted by eric on August 3, 2010

Here’s a youth ministry update :

We enjoyed some great “Cross Connections” services with four other youth groups on Sunday nights in July. We hosted it here on the 27th and looked at a great challenge from the life of Jim Elliot and Nate Saint.

We held a three night “Youth Revival: A Time to Pray”… we focused on Personal, Church, and Community Revival.  We ended with a prayer service at P.V.H.S.

During the month of August we are holding combined Youth Sunday School. We are going through a series titled “Love Out Loud” by Doug Fields.  Join us in the Youth Room for a great small group series.

We’ll be having our Sunday Night Live this Sunday night, Aug. 8th, after the p.m. service.  The Hintson’s are hosting it, and we’ll be raising money to send care packages to our US Soldiers.

Ministry Opportunity # 12

Posted by eric on May 12, 2010

For our 12th ministry opportunity we donated money to an organization that builds wells in Africa.  Did you know more than 1 billion people on our planet don’t have access to clean drinking water?

Check out www.rwandacleanwater.com .  We can be a blessing to others.

If you’re interested www.drytears.org was started by a teenager.  It also is a “clean water” ministry.

Ministry Opportunity #11

Posted by eric on April 26, 2010

For our eleventh ministry opportunity students visited area hospitals and placed I.C.U. Care Packages in waiting rooms.  We visited the I.C.U. waiting rooms at St. Vincents East, Trinity, Children’s and U.A.B. hospital.

God bless the sick and hurting…

Summer Events

Posted by eric on April 19, 2010

Just wanted to post some of our summer events for you.

First there’s the Youth Retreat we’ll be taking to the YMCA’s Hargis Retreat Center, June 4-6.  This will be a great camp experience!

Second there’s the Youth Mission Trip to Pawhuska, Oklahoma.  We’ll be working with the Osage Indians and doing things like Kids Clubs, Home Improvement Projects, and Sports Camps.

There will be other exciting events and trips, and we’ll still be focusing on service opportunities.  We’ll also be getting together with some other great youth groups.

Don’t miss it!
