Ministry Opportunity #16-19

Posted by eric on July 13, 2010

Our Mission Trip to Pawhuska, Oklahoma was great.  We had an awesome week serving the Osage Nation.  Students did ministries like: kids club, sports camp, nursing home, feeding kitchen, lawn work, clothes closet, painting, and more.  Therefore we’re counting our week as four ministry opportunities… 16-19.

The week ended with an amazing foot washing service.  May we wash the feet of those around us… Loving God, Loving Others, Serving People.

Our 15th Ministry Opportunity will be assisting with Vacation Bible School.  Teens will be helping in the classroom, on the rec. field, and in the craft room.  We look forward to a great week.

Summer Retreat and Ministry Opportunity #13

Posted by eric on June 1, 2010

Our Summer Retreat will be this weekend, June 4-6, at Camp Hargis YMCA.  We’ll be hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, and more!  Cost is only $35.  If you want to go there’s still time to sign up.

For our 13th Ministry Opportunity we attempted to serve with the Miracle League of Gardendale, a baseball league for children with special needs.  We went, but got rained out.  Thanks to all that went out, God looks at your heart and intentions and knows you were willing and ready to serve. God bless those kids and families.

Ministry Opportunity # 12

Posted by eric on May 12, 2010

For our 12th ministry opportunity we donated money to an organization that builds wells in Africa.  Did you know more than 1 billion people on our planet don’t have access to clean drinking water?

Check out www.rwandacleanwater.com .  We can be a blessing to others.

If you’re interested www.drytears.org was started by a teenager.  It also is a “clean water” ministry.

Just wanted to post some of our summer events for you.

First there’s the Youth Retreat we’ll be taking to the YMCA’s Hargis Retreat Center, June 4-6.  This will be a great camp experience!

Second there’s the Youth Mission Trip to Pawhuska, Oklahoma.  We’ll be working with the Osage Indians and doing things like Kids Clubs, Home Improvement Projects, and Sports Camps.

There will be other exciting events and trips, and we’ll still be focusing on service opportunities.  We’ll also be getting together with some other great youth groups.

During their winter school break students volunteered with the Metro Changers ministry.  Students worked on 2 homes and painted, built a deck, replaced ceiling tile, and added insulation.  We continue to pray for Mr. James and Ms. Helen.  Thanks to all who served so sacrificially.
